Season 2014

The Wandin Football Netball Club welcomes everyone to Season 2014. There have ben some changes in personal over the summer period starting with a new president and vice-president. Mick Fowkes has taken on the large task of filling the presidency shoes vacated by Nick Crossland. Nick did a marvellous job over the last few years and Mick is very excited to continue the success on and off the field for the club. By his side is a very able VP in Robert Bayliss. We all know of Rob’s love for the club and there is no doubt he will assist Mick in what is shaping to be another big year for the club.
The club already has its first function of the year already booked in. A Sportsman Night (traditional name of this type of night) to be held on the 21st February. The night will be held Wandin Hall starting at 7.00pm, $80 all inculsive (beer, wine, soft drink & finger food. The night will see Kevin Bartlett, David Schwarz and one other legend of the game venture up the highway to entertain us all for the night. The night is for everyone so all the footballers and netballers of the club catch up with Jarrod or Rob to organise your tables.
Pre season training is not to far off for all sides with the footballers kicking off on the 29th January at 6.00pm at Wandin.The netballers are kicking off on the 6th February. All sides (football & netball) have been booked in for a practice match with Torquay at Torquay on the 15th March with the plan of staying there the night and have a recovery session on the Sunday morning at the beech before heading home. The club is looking at some methods of transpotation for all players but as soon as more details come to hand we will let you know.
Coaching appointments have all but been finalised for all sides with only a couple of positions left to fill. The following appointments can be confirmed -

The club is very well placed to build on the success of all sides in season 2013 and in the coming weeks we will detail you all on the new recruits for season 2014. In the meantime, if you have nothing planned for the 29th January get up to the club catch a glimpse of the new faces and the old faces that will be looking to take the next step in Season 2014.
